A letter from the past, as follows, to tell about his character:
Hello Gordon, I want to thank you for documenting Allen Collins Bond in Find A Grave. A C Bond is my great-grandfather. I have researched the Bond family since 1969. In the US Military Pension Application filled out by A C Bond he wrote the following on 23 Nov 1908, when asked for verification of his birthdate: "Dear Sir: You exacted of me that that I cannot furnish. My Father and Mother are dead and I haven't (sic) neather (sic) a sister or brother aliving (sic). But in my Father's old Bibel (sic) is record of my birth on the 1st day of Nov 1846 and as for the date of the bibel I haven't looked to see what it is nor don't care."
