Son of Isaac Meacham & Phebe Thompson.

Isaac Meacham b. April 3 1766 at Williamstown, Berkshire Co., MA., died May 16 1845 at Benson, Rutland Co., VT.

Phebe Thompson b. May 27 1767 at Pawlett, Rutland Co., VT.

His father, Isaac Meacham, was the son of Jonathan Meacham & Thankful Rugg. Other children of Isaac & Phebe (Thompson) Meacham: Ansel, Alonzo Rosetta Rosina, Almena Losette, & Alanson Meacham.


Aurelius A. was in partnership with his bro. Alanson in the carriage making trade in Brandon, Rutland Co., VT. That business continued to grow until 1855, when the entire business was destroyed by fire, & never rebuilt. Alanson retired from the business & Aurelius A. & family moved to Wisconsin. [Prescott, Pierce Co.]

Originally purchased a sawmill in Prescott; sold sawmill. Purchased a sash & door factory operated as Meacham Sash & Door with son Edgar A. Meacham.


Aurelius Meacham family home is now the American Legion, minus the 2nd story & the cupola, according to James Monroe Bailey diariy entry when Bailey recorded A.A.Meacham moved in across the street.
