"A. O. Zimmerman Dies, Long Illness. Alvie Oscar Zimmerman, residing at 23 East 6th Street, died there Monday at 11:15 a.m. after a lengthy illness. Mr. Zimmerman had been employed for a period of thirty-seven years at Hood College and retired because of ill health. He was born in Frederick County on October 1, 1877, son of the late Daniel P. and Catherine L. Stitely Zimmerman. He was the last of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice M. Houff Zimmerman, three sons, Lloyd and Maynard Zimmerman, of Baltimore, Leo Zimmerman, Keymar, step-sons and step-daughters, Arthur S. Hargett, Frederick, Mrs. Charles Zimmerman, Baltimore and Mrs. Hubert D. Lewis, Frederick, several grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the funeral home, 106 East Church Street, after 7 p.m. and until the time of services there, Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Frederick Memorial Park, Linden Hills, M. R. Etchison & Son, funeral directors."
