Maynard Alvie Zimmerman, 80, of Charlestown Retirement Center, Catonsville, died Thursday, June 30, 1994, at the center after a 1 year illness. Born Nov. 16, 1913, in Graceham, he was the son of the late Alvie O. and Mary Freeze Zimmerman. He was the husband of the late Mabel Arbaugh Zimmerman, who died in 1990. He was predeceased by two brothers, Leo F. Zimmerman and Lloyd D. Zimmerman. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Woodlawn, a member of Sincerity Lodge A.F. and A.M. #181 of Baltimore and the American Legion Post #168 of Thurmont. He had served with the U.S. Army 6th Infantry during World War II in the Pacific. He was formerly employed with Western Maryland Dairy for 11 years, with Wills Dairy for 24 years and Cloverland Diary for 10 years. He was then employed with the engineering department at Fort Meade, retiring in 1980. He is survived by three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Libertytown Funeral Home of D.D. Hartzler, with the Rev. Dwight Sheesley of the Union Bridge United Methodist Church officiated. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville.
