"COPPERMINE. One of the best Christmas entertainments that has ever been held in this vicinity was held on Friday night, December 22, in the Reformed Church adjoining the Coppermine schoolhouse. It was given by the school of that place under the supervision of their teacher, Miss Mary Freeze, assisted by Mrs. Laura Waltz and Mr. Alva Zimmerman.An extremely interesting program was rendered in two divisions, the first part being made up entirely of sacred music, solos, anthems, duets, recitation, etc. Much credit is due the choir, which was composed of the schoolboys and girls, led by Miss Freeze, and assisted in alto and bass by Misses Cora Eyler, Bessie Freeze and Mr. Zimmerman...The entertainment was a decided success. Miss Freeze is reputed to be an excellent teacher."
