John married Nola Ellen Morgan in Upshur County, November 1, 1900 and had several children. He was a prominent farmer in the Center Point community in Pritchett. He and Nola and their family were respected members of the community. They were a very close-knit Christian family.
John went home to be with the Lord at the age of 53 of a sudden coronary attack.
John and Nora Ellen had a large family; Leroy, Raymond, Ocie, Eunice (Jimmy), S.J, Maxey, Doris, Anna Lou, Myrtice and Loyce
