Services for Eugene Cole, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel with Bro. Frank Martin and Bro. Jim McDonald officiating. Burial was in the Walker Cemetery.

Mr. Cole died Monday morning in a Lufkin hospital. He was born April 25, 1903 in Nacogdoches County and had resided in Angelina County for the past 40 years. Mr. Cole was a retired employee of Southland Paper Mill and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: wife, Ida; sons, Carroll and Donald; brothers, Odie and Austin; half-brothers, Cullen McMullen, Richard McMullen, Albeney McMullen and Roy McMullen; step-brothers, Ernest and Wade McMullen; half-sister, Verma Simmons; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Jerry Brock, Kenneth Ripley, Junior Kee, Tommy McMullen, T. J. Johnson and Binie Whitworth.
