Susan Marie Dyer, 52, passed from this life on August 13, 2004 with her family at her side after enduring a long battle with cancer. She was born July 3, 1952 to John and Lenna Merrill in Mesa, AZ. Susan grew up in a loving family and always held her parents, brothers, and sisters dear to her heart. She loved being outdoors and especially playing sports, a love that continued throughout her life. Her strong determination lead her to complete 2 marathons after her diagnosis of cancer. Susan attended Brigham Young University where she met her sweetheart John Dyer. In 1979 they were married for time and all eternity. This was the start of a deep and abiding love that continues today. Susan is the mother of 8 children, whom she loves with all her heart. She eagerly devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. Susan has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. She was a woman of great faith and she loved the Lord. She loved all people and loved to be able to help in any way she could. Her kindness and compassion have touched many people's lives. We will miss her tremendously, but look forward to our joyful reunion.
Susan is preceded in death by her dear son, Clayton Dyer; parents, John and Lenna Merrill; and her in-laws, Glenn and Nona Dyer. Susan is survived by her loving husband, John Dyer; 7 children, Wes (Amber) Dyer, Marie (Mark) McConaghie, Michelle, Lindsay, Robert, Annie, and Kyla Dyer; 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Dyer; 3 sisters, Ellen (Jim) Gardner, Janice (David) Allred, Margaret (Paul) Toscano; 4 brothers, John (Doris) Merrill, Ron (Karen) Merrill, Tom (Janene) Merrill, and David (Geri) Merrill along with many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and friends.
