DAYTON, Lonnie E., 73, of Smithfield, Ohio, died Thursday, November 1, 2007, in Valley Hospice North.

He was born in Adena, Ohio, on June 18, 1934, a son of the late Charles and Mary Orr Dayton, Sr.

He was retired from Cravat Coal Company and an Army veteran.

Preceding Lonnie in death were his wife, Gloria A. Pizzoferrato Dayton, and one son, Joe Dayton.

Surviving are his three children, Lonnie Jr., David and Mary Dayton; three sons, Dale Allen (Cindy) Westfall, Jr. of Kearney, Mo., Rev. John R. (Cheri) Westfall of Rensselaer, N.Y. and Troy (Amy) Westfall of Mishawaka, Ind.; sister, Armatha Furbay; two brothers, Charles (Betty) Dayton and Jewel (Shirley) Dayton; and several grandchildren.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John R. Westfall, his son, officiating.

Burial in Fort Steuben.
