The original "Paul McCartney" in the band, 1964: The Tribute. Proclaimed as the "Best Beatles tribute band in the world". Gary Grimes played the part of Paul McCartney and even as Gary was originally a right-handed bass guitar player, he changed and learned to play left-handed for the effect. He played Paul for 25-years with the band untill a brain tumor forced him to stop performing. Rolling Stone magazine named them "The Best Beatles Tribute band in the world." For 11-years, they sold out Carnegie Hall. They were also featured on CNN, USA, the Nashville Network and Entertainment Tonight. The band used vintage Vox amps and the very same guitars, drums and other props that the Beatles used. The Tribute band re-created the look, feel and sound of the original Beatles. Gary was a fun-loving man who would do anything for another person. If someone needed his attention, he gave it without a second thought. He also wrote songs and commercial jingles for such companies as NAPA Auto Parts, the Cleveland Indians and Ohio Edison electric company. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. Cause of death: Brain tumor at the age of 60.

NOTE: I attended a concert in the fall of 2008 and saw 1964: The Tribute on stage. These guys were "The Beatles". The songs were done the very same as the originals. The look was the same and the night was magical. I hope Gary is resting in peace. He sure gave us all a great evening. Mr. Ed ~
