Mabel Newcome, 84, of Punxsutawney RD 5, has died in the Brookville Hospital. Mrs Newcome was born January 7, 1888 in Oliver Township, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Jane Burkett Cochran, She was married June 22, 1909 to (Melvin) Guy Newcome, who died in 1961. A resident of the area her entire life, she was a member of the Burkett Hollow United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs Leanore Yount, of Erie and the following sons: Richard and Darrell, of Erie: Kenneth of Sharon: Ronald of Coolspring: Ardell and Samuel, of Punxsutawney RD 5. She also leaves a sister, Mrs Frank Dinger, of Punxsutawney: 11 grandchildrenand 26 great grandchildren.
Freinds will be received in the Schenkemeyer Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today and until time for services Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Rev. Perry ellenberger will officiate and burial will be in the Burkett Hollow Cemetery.
