Mr. William Wesley Sweat, 62, died Wednesday (March 11, 2004) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
He was a native of Ware County and resided most of his life in Waycross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Purdom Howard Sweat and Lillie Elizabeth Rowland Sweat; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Juanita Davis; two sisters, Shirley Edenfield and Doris Bennett; and a brother, Howard Sweat.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a member of Hosanna Church.
The survivors include his wife, Winnie Lou Davis Sweat of Waycross; a sister, Clarice Dowling of Waycross; three brothers, Travis Sweat of Dallas, GA, Dewey Sweat of Waycross, David Sweat of Villa Rica, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (March 13, 2004) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ramah Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday night from 7 until 9 o'clock.
