Sarah Teresa Roles, age 78, of Odd, died Monday, December 7, 2009 while a resident of Sunbridge Pinelodge Nursing Home.

She was born on May 2, 1931, at Egeria, and was the daughter of the late Hayden Alexander Walker (1884-1964) and Nota "Notie" Adeline Walker-Walker of Egeria (1894-1944).

She was preceded in death by brothers, Kerby Laymon Walker (1917-1977), James Ramon Walker (1929-1981), Harold Alexander Walker (1920-2004), and John "Johnny" Jacob Walker (1924-2005). By sisters Wanda G. "Pete" Walker-Mitchem (1915-1996), Norma Nadine "Normie" Walker-Pegram (1913-2007), and Cressie N. Walker-Finley (1911-1991).

She was homemaker, and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

She had previously made her home in Beckley, and Coal City. She had made her home in the Odd area for over 20 years.

Surviving include her husband of 61 years, Roy L. Roles (1928-2011); five sons, Richard Roles and wife Gloria of Beaver, Wesley Roles and wife Vicky "Dody" of Prosperity, Jerry Roles and wife Linda of Sacramento, Calif., Michael Roles and wife Kay of Hagerstown, Md., Kevin Roles and wife Charmie of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 12 grandchilden and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.

Additional survivors include a brother, Stanley Walker and wife Ruby of Leesburg, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy Walker-Mahaffey and husband Roland of Mentor, Ohio, and Sheena Walker-Mahaffey of Beckley; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A special blessing goes out to the caregivers from Pinelodge for the love and care that was shown to Sarah.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with Minister Joe Schmidt officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at a later date at the Brammer Cemetery at Egeria.
