Mrs. Emmett Lee Wingfield, died yesterday afternoon at her home, 1428 Senate Street, after an illness of several months. Services will be held at the residence at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Interment to be in the family plot in Elmwood beside her husband, the well known Columbia druggist, who died only last December. The Rev. Henry D. Phillips, rector of Trinity Church of which Mrs. Wingfield was a devoted member will be in charge.

Mrs. Wingfield, a member of an old Columbia family, was before marriage to Doctor
Wingfield, Miss Elizabeth Sherrerd McCreery. Through her lovely, yet strong traits of Character, she endeared herself to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Unselfishness might well be termed the spirit of her life, and there are many who will join with the family in mourning her death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John A. Chase and Miss Elizabeth Wingfield; two sons, Emmett Wingfield and William Wingfield, all of Columbia, and two sisters, one, Mrs. John T. Melton, who lives at the Wingfield home, and another, Mrs. A. C. Matteson, of Providence, R. I.

Pallbearers will be; Active, Henry W. Fair, Joseph M. Bell, J. M. Cantey, Albert R. Heyward, William Elliott, J. Edwin Belser, Dan Crawford and Carroll H. Jones, Honorary, W. C. Farber, Dr. J. H. McIntosh, Dr. C. Fred Williams, W. M. Shand, Edwin G. Seibels, Christie Benet, G. T. Pressley and F. H. Gibbes.

Mrs. Wingfield was prominent in various phases of the city life, taking an active part in society for many years, and being always interested deeply in the affairs of the church and in anything for the betterment of Columbia.
