Etta Ellen Fisher was born April 11, 1916 on a farm near Carroll to Sam and Emily (Morris) Jenkins. She attended country school near Carroll, graduated from Carroll High School in 1935, and received her Degree in Education from Wayne State College. Etta married Marion Fisher in 1940 at Carroll. They lived in Neligh and Albion until 1946 when Etta returned to Carroll. She taught school for forty-three years in Emerson, Willowdale, Albion, Carroll, ant thirty-three of those years in Wayne. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church of rural Carroll, Professional Women, Nebraska Education Association, Carroll Women's Club, Presbyterian Women, and the Senior citizens at Carroll. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, entertaining and serving her guests.
