Morris Jenkins, 95, of Wayne died Friday, April 25, 2003 at Premier Estates Senior Living Community in Wayne.

Services were held Wednesday, April 30 at First Presbyterian Church in Wayne.

Morris V. Jenkins, son of Sam and Emily (Morris) Jenkins, was born Dec. 28, 1907 on a farm near Carroll. He attended country school near Carroll. On March 24, 1932 he married Mildred Jones at Fremont. He worked for Standard Oil Company, managing a gas station in Emerson and delivering fuel in the area. The couple moved to a farm near Carroll where they farmed until moving to Wayne in 1960. He was then employed in maintenance and security at Wayne State College. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wayne and was formerly a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Carroll. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling to Minnesota to visit family.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; one daughter, Mary and Edward "Skip" Verzal of Hibbing, Minn.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald and Merle Jenkins of Sun City, Calif. and Merlin Jenkins of Carroll; two sisters, Esther Batten and Etta Fisher, both of Carroll; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Cora Jenkins, Vera Jenkins and one in infancy.

Pallbearers were Dennis Bateman, Roger Fredrickson, Don Endicott, Howard Morris, Chuck Carhart, Ken Prokop, Bill Carhart and Steve Dinsmore.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne. Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Homes in Wayne was in charge of arrangements.
