William "Bill"Thorp, 80, who had lived in Throckmorton since 1889, was a retired bookkeeper, Thorp had been in ill health for about 8 years. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Throckmorton Lodge #163. Thorp was a long-time member of the Throckmorton Baptist church.
Services will be a 2 p.m. Tuesday from the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hollie Briscoe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of the Merriman funeral Home.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. W.M. Gaither of Throckmorton and Mrs. Ruth Free of Albany.
