The Shenandoah County Sheriff's office reported that the youth accidently shot himself through the stomach. Dellinger ambulance was called to the scene but the youth was dead when the ambulance arrived.
Dr. Harold W. Miller, County Medical Examiner and Deputy Evans investigated the accident.
The body is now at the Dellinger Funeral Chapel here pending completion of funeral arrangements.

A funeral service for Allen Eugene Andrick, 16, who was accidently shot Tuesday, will be held from Christ Reformed Church at Conicville Saturday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Thomas L. Perry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church an hour before the service.
Young Andrick, an 8th grade student at Central High School, was accidently shot by his own .22 calibre rifle when he stepped from a truck. He died within a few minutes. He was hunting ground hogs.
He was a son of Claude and Dicie Sager Andrick and was born at Edinburg. He was a member of Christ Church.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Sager, of Edinburg, four brothers, Claude Andrick, of Mt. Jackson, John R. Andrick, of Woodstock, Lester M. Andrick, of Delmar, Del., Shirley L. Andrick, of Woodstock, and a sister, Miss. Linda May Andrick, at home.
The pallbearers, Donald and Douglas Dellinger, Gary Hawkins, Dickie Bowman, Dickie Runion, Gerald Polk. The Christ Church Youth Fellowship will carry flowers. The Central High 8th grade class will attend in a body.
