Elizabeth was the youngest daughter of James and Hannah Mary (Self) Story, who moved with several of their children from Tennessee to Morgan County, Illinois about 1830.

She married Isaac Hull 24 December 1839 in Morgan County. They had at least 7 children: Henry, husband of Cynthia Ann Angelo; William Moses, who first married Mary Ann Ash, and after her death Julia M. Spotts; Eliza Hannah Hull, wife of John Tendick; Margaret Dorothy "Dollie", who married John Thomas Spencer; Thomas L. Hull, husband of Nancy A. Long; Parish Daniel Hull, who first married Mary and after she died married Almeda Florence Fisher; and Elizabeth Hull.
