Funeral Services For Frederick Walliker Are Held Monday

Frederick Earl Walliker, son of William T. and Susan D. Stansbury Walliker, was born August 21, 1884, near Monica and passed away Friday afternoon, August 21, 1953 in the Methodist hospital in Peoria at 5:35.
Mr. Walliker spent his entire life in Peoria and Knox counties. He attended White's Grove school near his childhood home and helping his father on the farm until he grew to manhood. He studied at Brown's Business college in Peoria; later working as a salesman for the Independent Harvester Company, Peoria Branch, the Tank Hardware Company of Quincy and Sickless-Preston Hardware Company of Davenport.
Mr. Walliker was united in marriage with Miss Laura Bower September 28, 1912, at Brimfield, where they resided until fifteen years ago when he engaged in the grain business at Gibson, later buying an elevator there. He retired about three year ago because of ill health, which grew worse as time passed. He was a member of the Horeb Lodge No. 363, A.F. & A.M., Elmwood for a number of years.
Mr. Walliker was a good boy, a fine man and a kind and thoughtful husband and neighbor, always willing and ready to do a favor or a kindness for any one. While not a member of any church, he had been a Christian at heart for many years and recently made a definite decision fro Christ as our only hope.
Last Saturday his wife, who had taken care of home as he failed in health, had the misfortune to fall and break her hip and is a patient in the Methodist hospital in Peoria, It became necessary to take Mr. Walliker to the hospital also, where he failed rapidly until the end came.
His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, three sisters, Miss Sadie Walliker and Mrs. Gladys Buchman both of Peoria, Mrs. Francis Mahle of Princeville; and one brother Reginald Walliker of Monica.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. V. Myers of the Bethel church if Edwards Monday at 2 o'clock in the Union church in Brimfield with burial in the Brimfield cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Harry McKown, Charles Cowman Lester Eckman, Lambert Wallin, Warren Ayres and Curtis McCoy.
