Peter M. Schlaefer 92, of 121 N. Elm St., Campbellsport, manager of the Brittingham & Hixon Lumber Co., Campbellsport, for 52 years, died Thursday at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born June 30, 1877, at Waumandee, Wis., a son of Joseph and Barbara Schlaefer. He married Isabella Husting on Sept. 12, 1905.
Mr. Schlaefer retired in 1952 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society of St. Matthew’s Church at Campbellsport and the Men’s Choir.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Dr. Paul Schlaefer of Neenah; five brothers, Joseph, William and Dr. Math Schlaefer, all of Campbellsport, Frank Schlaefer of Fond du Lac and Nicholas Schlaefer of Montello; and one sister, Miss Katherine Schlaefer of Campbellsport.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Twohig funeral Home, Campbellsport, and at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church. The Rev. Victor Kemmer will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p0.m. Friday at the funeral home.
