APACHE Funeral for Flossie Loree Parmer Gibson, 87, Apache, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bud Jones, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Gibson died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, in Lawton.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

She was born April 5, 1923, in Sunset, Texas, to Edgar Newton and Roxie Inez Mayhue Parmer. She moved to Oklahoma as a girl and graduated from Apache High School. She worked at Fort Sill in the commissary for several years. She married and settled down to raise her family. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Lawton Public Schools system. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and raised many different vegetables. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and crocheting. She especially loved taking care of her family.

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law: Catherine Inez Gibson and Virginia Myers, both of Apache, and Linda and Keith Christenson, Sterling; a son, Kenny Gibson, Alvarado, Texas; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Chrystal and Steve Phearson, Elgin; Sherri Christenson, Elgin; Corina and Les Gee, Sterling; Chantz and Rebecca Christenson, Moore; Michael Myers, Pauls Valley; Charles Myers, Atoka; Shala and Gregg Hutchinson, Minco; Tony and Beth Myers, Yukon; and Loretta White and companion, Guy Navarro, Lawton; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Jo Parmer, Lawton; and a sister, Genita Howell, Tuttle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Larry Gibson and Ricky Gibson; and a sister and brother-in-law, Pete and Geraldine McCarty.
