Martha LeAnn "Mattie" (Abbott) Boring, 92, died at 11:40 p.m. in Wayne, Michigan, at Annapolis Hospital, of bronchial pneumonia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Richard Abbott and Nancy (Hatcher) Abbott; her husband, William Henry Boring; sons, Billy Lee Boring, Leonard Boring, Fred Boring, and Robert Boring; daughters, Lois Boring and Mrs. Lorine (Boring) Burris.

Mattie was survived by sons, Maynard Boring, Oscar Boring, Howard Boring, and Art Boring; daughters Mrs. Myrtle (Boring) Morton, Mrs. Ella Mae (Boring) Barnett and Mrs. Betty (Boring) Anderson; 37 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mattie was born and was raised in Cades Cove. She moved to Tampa, Florida, in the late 1940s. She relocated to Maryville, Tennessee, in the 1950s. Finally, she went to live with her daughter, Myrtle, in Wayne, Michigan, in 1974, where she lived her remaining years.
