Earl was the son of Elijah Taylor and Mary Ellen (Bell) Neal. He was born in May 1901. Earl married Audrey Evelyn Stites in 1923 they had 5 children; Eugene, Loyzelle, Arthur, Mildred and Frankie. They lived in the country in Eastern Franklin County, Illinois until 1945. Earl bought the Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment and Service Facility in Benton and they moved to town. Earl and his brother Ransom were killed in an automobile accident in 1955.
