OBITUARY

Rita E. (Arnold) Bruso, 87, of 398 Water St. died Wednesday at the Bolton Manor Nursing Home in Marlborough after a long illness. She was an assembler at Ray-O-Vac Co. for 30 years, and retired 20 years ago.

Born in Agawam, she lived here for 61 years, and was a communicant of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Clinton.

Her husband, Louis J. Bruso, died in 1959.

Mrs. Bruso leaves a son, Louis A. Bruso, and a daughter, Lorraine T. Hopfmann, of Clinton; four brothers, Andrew F. of Agawam, Henry R. of Southwick, Robert E. of Venice, Fla., and Irving T. of Monson; four sisters, Grace A. Heineman of East Aurora, N.Y., Mildred M. Gray of Clearwater, Fla., and Emily B. Prouty and Adeline M. Herlihy of Palmer; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Friday at Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home and the church.

Burial was at Saint John's Cemetery in Lancaster.

CLINTON - Rita E. (Arnold) Bruso, 87, of 398 Water St., died yesterday in Bolton Manor, Marlborough, after a long illness.

Her husband, Louis J. Bruso, died in 1959.

She leaves a son, Louis A. Bruso; a daughter, Lorraine T. Hopfmann, both of Clinton; four brothers; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

She was born in Agawam and lived in Clinton for 61 years. Mrs. Bruso was an assembler for Ray-O-Vac Co. for 30 years, retiring 20 years ago. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Clinton.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow from Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St.

Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery, Lancaster.

Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
