The Wellington Leader March 7, 1946

Sidney Berryman, a former resident of this county, died in Abilene
Saturday, March 2, after a five-day illness. Mr. Berryman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Berryman of Wellington, and a brother of Sam Berryman, Mrs. Acklie Holley, Mrs. Susie Patrick and Miss Marie
Berryman of Wellington. Other brothers and sisters are Tom Berryman
and Richard Berryman of Matador, Bill Berryman of Spade, E. B. Berryman of Hereford, Mrs. Nora Allen of Denison, and Mrs. Eva Wright of Fort Worth. Known generally to his friends here as Sid, Mr. Berryman was born in Fredericktown, Mo., October 12, 1899. He moved with his parents to Hollis while still a boy and came to Wellington about 1920. He worked for Hall and Anderson Ice Co., and later for the Ford Motor Co. as a mechanic. He operated a garage in Shamrock a year, then returned here and was employed by various garages. He had lived in Abilene for the last three years. Mr. Berryman was married to Miss Velma Griffin, and one son was born to them. Later he was married to Miss Jones of Plainview. She and the
son, Jimmie Jo Berryman of Spade, survive.
