She was the last surviving daughter of Frank and Mary Rinehart Blosser. She lived in Stanley most of her life and was a member of the Stanley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
On June 28, 1941, she married Bailey White, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1998.
They lived on Pond Avenue, across from Clarice's parents' family farm, where they raised their sons Gerald, born in 1942, and Keith, born in 1953. They devoted their lives to raising their sons and serving God. Clarice worked alongside her sister, Margaret Blosser Dove, as the Assistant Food Director at Shenandoah Valley Academy, where she worked for over 20 years.
She joined Bailey in converting her family's barn into a spacious home. She found great joy in using her added space to provide care for her grandchildren and their friends and to entertain guests and family on the weekends. Hundreds of guests signed her book, testifying their appreciation of her hospitality and delicious meals. Later, in retirement, she again worked with Bailey to build a cabin near Big Meadows where she could invite old and new friends to visit and share a meal. Her life was dedicated to her family and to demonstrating God's love and generosity through hospitality.
She is survived by her brother, Dale Blosser; a sister-in-law, Janice White; two sons, Gerald and Keith and their wives. Also surviving are six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-granddaughters, as well as nieces and nephews. She did not fear death because she knew the Life-Giver and now waits for His call to be reunited with her family and many friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 27, in the Stanley Seventh-day Adventist Church by Pastor Jeff Taylor.
