Funeral services for Louise Harthcock Abernathy of Flora, 83, were held Monday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at Harlands Creek Baptist Church with burial in Harlands Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Lee officiating, assisted by Rev. Roger Richardson.
Mrs. Abernathy died Nov. 30 of heart failure al Methodist Medical Center in
Jackson.
A native of Holmes County, Mrs. Abernathy was an elementary school teacher having taught for over 35 years at Coxburg, Benton and Flora. She was a member of Simmons Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: sons, Billy Joe Abernathy of Mobile, Alabama, and Mac Abernathy of Swiftown; daughters, Marilyn Martin and Swayze Clark, both of Flora; a sister, Maude Hearn of Lexington; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were: Joe C. Ables, Mabry Ables, Mac Abernathy, Jr., Richie Abernathy, Eddie Gaines and David Mullins.
