Services for Masquelette Walker Gaar will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Revs. John Lee and Daniel Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

Gaar, 67, of Route 2, Lecompte, died at 8:35 p.m. Friday in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Gaar was a charter member of Horseshoe Drive Methodist Church. He was a native of Dodson and a retired state representative for Dairyman Inc. of Lafayette. He was also employed by Continental Trailways and Walker Farms. After his retirement, he worked as a security guard at P.S.I. in Alexandria.

Survivors include his wife, Mary T. Gaar of Lecompte; four sons, Massey Gaar Jr. of Baton Rouge, Burton Gaar of Lecompte, Jack Gaar of Miami Beach, Fla., and John Gaar of Alexandria; one daughter, Mary Virginia Myers of Lecompte; one sister, Camille Wall of Alexandria; and six grandchildren.
