Mrs. Martha J. Hauser, of Albion, Succumbs to Old Age.

Mrs. Martha Jane Hauser, one of the pioneer women of the county, and a resident of Iowa and Liscomb township since 1849, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Griggs, Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Hauser's death was due to old age and general debility. She had been in failing health for three years. Thursday morning her condition became serious. Mrs. Hauser was 78 years of age. She was born in Marshall County, Indiana, Aug. 25, 1831. The family moved to Illinois when Mrs. Hauser was a child. She became the wife of George Hauser in 1857, the marriage taking place in this county. Mr. Hauser died near Liscomb in 1871. In addition to the daughter, Mrs. Griggs, Mrs. Hauser is survived by one son, F. S. Hauser, of Union. A daughter, Mrs. Celestia Dawson, died in Oklahoma in 1897. One sister, Mrs. Sarah Ann Price, lives in Zion City, Ill. Prayer will be said at the house at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. The body will be taken to the Bethel church, where service will be in charge of Rev. George Biersborn as soon as the funeral party arrives.
