8 Dec 1924: Elias Demmy, of 819 Union Street died Thursday of apoplexy, after an illness of the past two years. He was aged 72 years, 6 months and 9 days. Mr. Demmy was born in Lancaster county, and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Demmy. For many years he was a devoted member of the Salem United Brethren Church, of this city. He leaves his widow and three sons, John, Abraham, and Harry, of Lebanon; one step son, William Selders, of Buffalo, New York; one daughter, Ida, of Lebanon; one brother, Zacharias, of this city; three sisters, Mrs. William Evans, of Lebanon, and Mrs. Spitler and Mrs. John Simmons, of Lititz. Many floral tokens from friends and relatives covered the beautiful casket in which the body was laid to its last resting place at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
