"ZACHARIAS DEMMY -- Zacharias Demmy died at his home at Lebanon, shortly after midnight on Saturday, resulting from a stroke which overcame him on Monday night, Feb. 7, although he had not been well for a period of almost six years. His age was 77 years, 10 months and 17 days.
Mr. Demmy was born in this section, leaving Lititz to go to Lebanon 35 years ago. He was a member of the Order of Independent Americans at Myerstown; Brotherhood of America and Old Glory Temple L. A. Lebanon.
His wife, who before marriage was Caroline Buch, of Brunnerville; a stepson, Wesley Bender, of West Haven, Conn., and these children survive: Isaac E., Paul I., of Allentown; Alfred G., Lebanon; William and Mrs. R. Bixler, Harrisburg. Twelve grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. David Strickler, Mrs. Ida Demmy, Lititz, and Mrs. William Evans, of Lebanon, also survive.
The funeral took place here on Tuesday morning. The remains were brought here and interment was made in the United Evangelical cemetery, after which services were held in the U. E. church, conducted by Rev. Heisler of Lebanon, assisted by Rev. Heisey, pastor of the church here."
