MUNCIE--Gale W. Landers, age 77, passed away Thursday at Ball Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born in Muncie, Indiana. He attended Wilson High School. He retired from General Motors in 1997. He worked with Seldon Rest Farms for 50 years. He was a member of the UAW #977 and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his four children, Robert (wife-Brenda) Landers; Pamela (husband-Ray) Caudill; Richard (wife-Loretta) Mongold; and Sandra Suddoth; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Becky Landers and Peggy (husband-Don) Whited; special friend, Linda Bilbrey; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ricky Neff, also survive him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Landers; parents, Harry and Lena Landers Sr.; three brothers, Harry "Bud" Landers, Robert "Bobby" Landers, and John Landrs; and five sisters, Mary "Lib" Vincent, Iris Bight, Norma Brown, Carolyn "Kenny" Clark, and Doris Landers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Peggy Whited officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
