MARION - Mrs. James Travis Brown, 75, died this morning at her home south of Marion after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Brown was the former Ida Louise Durant, daughter of the late Col. William W. and Ellen Grice Durant, and the widow of the late James Travis Brown.
She is survived by the following children, Mrs. Hiram Merriman of Suffren, N.Y., Mrs. Henry S. Reaves of Charlotte, N.C., Mrs. Clifton Ledingham of Marion, James O. Brown of Charlotte, N.C. and W. Durant Brown of Centenary; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Whilden, and Miss Claudia Durant of Marion; and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Iverson Graham in charge. Interment will follow in the Baker Cemetery.
