1858 - 1943
Mrs. Annie H. Christensen, 84, died Saturday evening at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Axel Gran [Gren] of 142 North Ninth West street, Provo, of a lingering illness.
Born in Holbro county [Hobro, Nordjylland], Denmark, a daughter of Hans and Anna Marie Poulson Hansen, she was educated in Denmark and became a member of the L D S Church in her native country. She was married to Christen [or Christian] M. Christensen in Randers, Denmark, in 1891 [2 June 1882]. She and her husband immigrated to Provo the same year. They were married a second time in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple in 1895. Mr. Christensen died in 1942.
She is survived by four sons, Hans, Andrew, Marion Christensen, all of Provo, and Charles Christensen of Salt Lake City; three daughters, Mrs. Axel Gran [Gren] and Mrs. James Nelson of Provo, and Mrs. Willard Warnick of Salt Lake City; 33 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Hansen of Cedar City, and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Zobell of Provo.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Pioneer L D S ward chapel and burial will be in Provo City burial park.
Friends may call Thursday evening at the Berg mortuary and Friday until time of services at the Hans Christensen home, 890 West Center street.
