Clarisa was likely the oldest daughter of Daniel and Rhoda Taft Marsh, born in Mendon, Massachusetts where the family lived until moving to Vermont.

I am currently researching Clarisa and records are few.

I have been able to document that she married Reuben Washburn based on the marriage record of their daughter, Elizabeth H., born ~1822, which names her parents. (An Ancestry Family Tree notes the marriage "ABT 1807, Woodstock, Vermont".)

I located two other daughters and one son shortly after finding Elizabeth for a total of 4 children (to date):

--Clarisa Marsh Washburn Perkins: 1814 - 1881
--Elizabeth Washburn Young: ~1822 - ~1857
--Julia Washburn Callory: 1828 - 1852
--Lorenzo R Washburn: 1832 - 1901

In testament to the diseases that ravaged families, two daughters, Clarisa and Julia, died of typhoid fever per their death records.

Clarisa's grave marker also evidently names her husband and parents based on the Marker Inscription documented in the memorial by Jen Snoots who created it and also photographed the marker.

By 1850 Clarisa, listed as Clara in the US Census, is living with her husband Reuben and their daughter Elizabeth and her husband George Young in Londonderry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Obviously the extended family moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire between 1844 and 1850.

(Note: The 1850 Census also documents 2 other Washburn's living with the family in New Hampshire; as yet I don't know their relationships: Elena D. Washburn, 42; and Lorenzo R. Washburn, 17; both were born in Vermont.)

It's certainly possible Clarisa had other children with Reuben, but as yet I've not found any other records.

Clarisa lived until 1857, but Reuben's lifespan is unknown as I've located neither a death or burial record for him. (It appears he served in the War of 1812 based on finding him in a Pension Index on Ancestry.)

I will continue to research Clarisa's life (and Reuben's) as time permits in the hopes of determining if she had other children and whether her husband predeceased her or not.
