Resident of Near Valier Died Sunday
Mrs. Edna Mauk Postlewait succumbed to Cerebral Hemorrhage at Age of 53 Years.
Mrs. Edna Mauk Postlewait, widow of John Postlewait, died in her home near Valier Sunday of a cerebral hemorrhage after a short illness at the age of 53 years.
The deceased was born in Horatio a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mauk and was united marriage to John Postlewait when a young woman. The couple lived In in Horatio until 25 years ago when they moved to near Valier where Mr. Postlewait died seven or eight years ago. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church of Sportsburg and was held in high esteem in that community and the community where she died.
She leaves the following sons and daughter: Kenneth Horning, of Valier; Henry S., and John Sr., at home; Mrs. Sara Weaver, of North Braddock; and step-sons Alvin Postlewait, of Philadelphia; Andrew B., of Langley Field, Va. The following brother and sisters are also living: Ira Mauk, of Horatio; Mrs. Laverne Flickinger, Sagamore; Mrs. W. J. Ross and Mrs. Clarence Mitchell, of Frostburg. One grandchild survives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon beginning at I o'clock in the Methodist Church Valier with interment in the Valier Cemetery. The deceased will lie in state in the Morrison Funeral Home until Tuesday.
