OBITUARY :
VIRGINIA CATHERINE JOHNSTON, 78, of 17427 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at her home.

Born Feb. 14, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Frank and Maude Halbach Judd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Johnston.

She was retired from E. J. Fennel.

She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

She was a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She is survived by two sons, Fred Lee Johnston of Hagerstown and Robert Franklin Johnston of Haverhill, Mass.; a sister, Mary Buxton of Hagerstown; a brother, J. Frank Judd of Englewood, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred L. Judd.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
