Mary Judd Buxton, 85, of 10114 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Washington County Hospital. Born Nov. 30, 1916, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Maude Hammond Judd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Buxton, in 1983.
She was a 1937 graduate of Washington County School of Nursing. She worked as a private duty nurse, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star; and Washington County Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol B. Mathers of Surprise, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald F. Buxton; one sister, Virginia C. Johnston; and two brothers, John F. Judd II and Fred L. Judd.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home Chapel, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis L. Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
