The fifth of seven known children born to Joseph Allen Wallen and Millicent "Milly" Jones Wallen of Wallen's Creek, Harlin Co KY, Rosamond married her 1st Cousin, Thomas Wallen Weddle about 1796 in Alexander Co TN. She and Thomas had at least ten known children:

1) Nancy Weddle (1797-1880), m: John Hubbard Jr.
2) David Dolan Weddle (1799-1881), m: Mary Ann Sullivan.
3) Daniel Weddle (1801-1865), m: Elizabeth Sullivan.
4) Morning Weddle (b: 1803), m: John David.
5) Thompson Weddle (1806-1880), m: Sarah Miles.
6) Mary Ann Weddle (1808-1848), m: Aaron Fleener.
7) Stephen Wilburn Weddle (1810-1880), m: Rachel Pruett (aka Prewett).
8) Sarah "Sally" Weddle (b: 1812), m: Daniel Thomas.
9) Ellender Forgey Weddle (b:1815), m: Harvey Young.
10) Hiram Kilgore Weddle (1819-1905), m: Mary Pruett (aka Prewitt), sister of Rachel.

Rosamond's father, Joseph Allen Wallen, received a land grant for his service during the Revolutionary War. The land was located "...on the north side of Clinch River, extending to the top of Newman's Ridge and into Lee Co VA. The land was in Sullivan Co NC; later Hawkins Co then Hancock Co TN." This land grant was proved in 1789.
