SHOALS – Grace E. Clifton, 83, of Shoals, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday in Bedford.
Born in Shoals, she was the daughter of James T. Clifton and Mary E. Shrum.
She was a retired nurse and spent her winter months in Florida as a private nurse. She was a graduate of Shoals High School and attended the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was an active member in the Shoals United Methodist Church and was a member of the Martin County Home Economics Club, the Daughters of the Union, and the Martin County Historical Society.
Survivors include one brother, Claude L. Clifton, Bedford; two sisters; Clone L. Qualkenbush, Indianapolis, Fern Ison, Long Beach, Cal.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals with the Rev. Howard Bell officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.
Friends may call after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday and after 8 a.m. on Monday until the service hour.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the Shoals United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association.
