The Davey family's sons and Farnsworth sons-in-law were all miners that were away from home a great deal. Hydraulic mining was the method mainly used in these areas. Their wives often followed them to mining camps all over northern California. Annie often would earn money by setting up a tent kitchen in the mining areas. She used a big wood stove under a tent to feed hundreds of men at a time.
Burt and Maude divorced in 1907 and she moved to Sacramento, CA. She ran a boarding house for many years as well, to support herself. She had a second marriage to ____ Wolfe, which ended quickly. She subsequently married Samuel H. 'Sam' Thompson of Lower Lake, CA. The marriage took place in San Jose, CA on 26 Aug. 1915, but the couple lived for many years on 'W' Street in Sac, where they rented apartments. Maude took care of her only grandchild (Joyce) while her daughter, Mae worked in the California State Library. Sam, a WWI vet died in 19___, of lung cancer, and the widowed Maude died 25 April 1955 of natural causes at the home of her daughter, Mae and son-in-law, Norman King in Sacramento, CA. Maude is buried in Odd Fellows Lawn Cemetery, Sac, CA."
