Mary Esther Tarvin Anderson 92, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 4, 2010.

She was born on July 29, 1918 in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of John W. and Rebecca Walzer Tarvin. Mary was a graduate of Staunton High School and Indiana State University. She was a microbiologist for the Indiana State Board of Health for 35 years, retiring in 1983.

Mary is the widow of Forest W. Gasaway and Lewis F. Anderson. She is survived by her son Everett (Kathleen) Gasaway, grandchildren Anthony (Debbie) Gasaway, Donnell Sullivan, great grandchildren Caitlin and Patrick Gasaway, step grandchildren Larry Hardin Jr., Rachael Hardin, step great grandchildren Torrie Hardin-Walsh, Cameron Snorton, Anthone Cowherd Zion and Elijah Hardin. She is preceded in death by her sisters Ellen Gross, Alice Tarvin, brother Nobel Tarvin.

A memorial visitation will be Friday Nov 12, 2010 from 4–8PM at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary and Saturday Nov 13, 2010 from 10AM–12PM at the Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, Indiana. Burial will follow in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Brazil, Indiana. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to American Lung Association.
