Walnut Springs - Houston McCoy, a former Fort Worth public schools employee, died Thursday at home. He was 84.
Funeral: 10:30 am today at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Burial: Nancy Smith Cemetery in Somervell County.
Mr. McCoy, a Somervell County native, was a 26-year resident of Walnut Springs. He had lived in Fort Worth until 1968. He worked 20 years in the Fort Worth public schools and was a farmer for many years.
Survivors: Son, LeRoy McCoy of Joshua; six daughters, Murlene Tice of Hurst, Pat May of Rosenberg, Clara Holliday and Carol Douglas, both of Glen Rose, Jo Ann Mitchell of Mineral Wells and Robin Gosdin of Spring; four brothers, Tommie McCoy of Walnut Springs, Jessie McCoy, J.C. McCoy and Cecil McCoy, all of Glen Rose; two sisters, Dorothy Baker of Fort Worth and Bessie Firestone of Stephenville; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
