WALNUT SPRINGS - Tommie McCoy, 91, a retired farmer, died Wednesday at a Cleburne hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. today at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Burial: Nancy Smith Cemetery in Somervell County.
Tommie McCoy was born August 10, 1905, in Chalk Mountain, Texas. He had been a Walnut Springs resident for 27 years and worked for Fort Worth schools for 12 years.
Survivors: Wife, Madie McCoy of Walnut Springs; daughters, Wanda Shackelford of Paluxy, Johnnie Baley of Chandler, Jean Russell of Crowley and Gayle East of Granbury; brothers, Jessie McCoy, J.C. McCoy and Cecil McCoy of Glen Rose; sisters, Bessie Firestone of Stephenville and Louise Young of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
