ROBERT BURNETT HUGHES of Mt Pleasant, SC and formerly of Melbourne, FL, born in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama and was the son of Oliver Wendell and Lydia Mae Burnett Hughes. He was a graduate of West Point, was a retired, 30 year, U.S. Army veteran and received his Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M. Preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Anderson Hughes, surviving are his children, Robin (Eddie) Gordon of Mt Pleasant, Carolyn (Terry) Hall of Pampa, TX and Robert Anderson Hughes of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Lara (Jason) Barnett, Kati Gordon, Lt Marshall Brodie Hall, Clayton Hall and Tyler Hall. A Memorial Service will be held November 14, 2010 at Prince of Peace Anglican Church in Melbourne. Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J Henry Stuhr Mount Pleasant Chapel.
