10 Nov 1769: The unrecorded will of Daniel Murphree appears on microfilm serial no 4650 pt 5 (Genealogical Society). "Unrecorded Wills-Chatham Co NC. It is on the part covering 1770-1900. (Note that the children listed in this will belong to Daniel Murphree, Sr., not Jr.)

Nov 1771: "inventory of the Estate of Daniel Murphree Deceased, Chatham Co NC (Death in 1771?) which evidence would imply that Daniel Murphree died in North Carolina, not Ireland

The History of the Bynum Family, Vol.2 page 230. Section Two; States that "the Murphree family originally came from Dublin, Ireland. One Daniel Murphree, who died in Ireland in 1782, and his wife, Sarah Dempsey, had twelve children. seven of their sons migrated to America before the Revolutionary War. They were Solomon, Nimrod, David, Daniel II, Mills, William, and James. Solomon (1752-1848), came in his old age to Blount County; Nimrod settled in Missouri; David went to Texas; Daniel was killed in the Revolution, but some of his children came to Blount County; Mills settled in Georgia; William migrated to Tennessee; and James remained in North Carolina."

"The Murphree family originally came from Dublin, Ireland. One Daniel Murphree married Sarah Dempsey;they had twelve children. Seven of their sons migrated to America before the Revolutionary War. They were Solomon, Nimrod, David, Daniel II, Mills, William, and James. Solomon came to Blount County; Nimrod settled in Missouri; David went to Texas; Daniel came to Blount County; Mills settled in Georgia. William migrated to Tennesse; and James remaioned in North Carolina.

"Danil II and his wife had three children: Celia, Daniel III, and Aaron. Daniel II fought in the Revolutionary War in North Carolina and was killed. Shortly after that Molly and the children left and went to Blount County where Daniel's brother Solomon later lived in Murphree's Valley, Aaron, son of Daniel II, married Sally Bullard. They had 10 children: Jamima, Polly, Cinda Ella, Nancy, Tapley, Elijah, Marvel, Thomas, Peggy, and Bailye Barton. Elijah, son of Aaron and Sally (b. 1812) married Sally Easley. They had 16 chilcren: William A., Thomas D., Issaac S., Ben S., Mary Ann, Celia, Levi, Winnie Mae, BAily B.,Sarah J., Aaron Asberry, Jesse A., Margaret K., Cinda, Ella, Elijah S., and Stephen Tapley. Three of Elijah's sons fought in the War Between the States. Issaac Murphree (1839-1864), Ben S. Murphree (183 (sic)- 1862), and Levi Murphree (1842-1863) fought in the 19th Alabama Co. B throughtout the War."
