Sarah Osborne Blythe was the wife of William Blythe and mother of:
Absolom, Elizabeth, Esther, Sally, Thomas, JONATHAN, Daniel, John, William, David and Mary.

It is well documented in the Daughters of the American Revolution records as well as through DNA matching that this Sarah, wife of William Blythe, was the daughter of Daniel Murphree/Murphy. Here is the DAR record for William:

BLYTHE, WILLIAM (Pvt.) DAR Ancestor #: A011561
Service: SOUTH CAROLINA Rank: PRIVATE
Birth: CIRCA 1750
Death: POST 2-12-1832 GREENVILLE DIST SOUTH CAROLINA
Service Source: SALLEY & WATES, STUB ENTRIES TO INDENT, BOOK I, P 108, LIBER I, #615
Service Description: 1) CAPT BASKINS, MILITIA
Residence 1) District: NINETY SIX DIST - State: SOUTH CAROLINA
Spouse
1) SARAH MURPHY
2) BARBARY X

To be noted, the reason this lineage is so well documented is because William Blythe is the ancestor of (ex-) President William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton

Thank you to "janicet" for this info.

Suggested edit: If this is Sarah Murphree, do you know where the Osborne came from? She was too young to have been previously married (she was married when her father's will was written in 1771). There were at least two William Blythes in South Carolina in 1790; one was in Greenville District, and one in Abbeville District, south of Greenville. I suspect Sarah Murphree was married to the one in Abbeville, which is in closer proximity to the Murphrees, but I can't prove it. In either case, she probably died in South Carolina, not North Carolina. Any help with this would be appreciated.

RE: Sarah Blythe
Hi, Charlotte, so nice to hear from you so soon. Most people seem to think that Sarah Murphree and Sarah Osborne are the same person, but I really don't think so. Their information has been so intermingled that it is almost impossible to separate them. The one in Pickens County (I think this is the one related to ex-President Bill Clinton) is fairly easy to trace, but Sarah Murphree is almost impossible to find any original sources on because the two William Blythes are also intermingled. Stay tuned, I will try to see what else I can figure out. Stay safe. We in Missouri are trying.
