Hays -- Lillian Windholz, 81, died May 19, 2004, at her daughter's home at Vista, Calif. She was born May 10, 1923, at Emmeram, the daughter of Joseph M. and Elizabeth Hoffman Kuhn.

A Hays resident since 1949, she was a homemaker and a seamstress. She belonged to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

On Dec. 28, 1949, she married Charles Windholz at Catherine. He died July 7, 1997.

Survivors include: a son, Douglas Windholz, Garden City; a daughter, Karen Britton, Vista; a brother, Francis Kuhn, Victoria; three sisters, Leona Rohleder and Martina Bieker, both of Hays, and Hilaria Windholz, Victoria; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Leo, Joseph, Raymond, John, Eugene, Clarence, Edwin and Alvin Kuhn; and four sisters, Dena Riedel, Mary Brungardt, Margaret Dinkel and Delphine Copp.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cline's Mortuary, Hays. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emmeram.

Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund or Masses, both in care of the mortuary.
