Salem, S.D.-Sabers, John, 81. Requiem Mass…..Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church…..Burial will be at St. May's Cemetery…..Died Saturday at a Sioux Falls hospital. Born April 8, 1877, at new Vienna, Ia. Came to Salem in 1898. Married Jan. 21, 1903 at New Vienna. Farmed near Salem until moving to Salem in 1910. Operated auto, real estate, tire, battery, retail and wholesale gas business. Built several buildings here. Retired in 1951. Survivors are the widow; six daughters, Miss Irene Sabers, Mrs. Angela Thomson, Mrs. L.C. Hering and Mrs. Don Coome, all of Sioux Falls; Mrs. R.R. Carpenter, Huron, and Mrs. George Carey, Mitchell; two sons, Ralph, Sioux Falls, and Robert, Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Von Lemdon, New Vienna; Mrs. Elizabeth Puetz and Mrs. Louis Kettelslager, both of Salem; three brothers, Arthur, New Vienna; Anton, Dubuque and Andrew, Salem.
